On 3rd February 2019 our little woman Sadhbh Murphy was born. Sadhbh was transferred to Crumlin hospital that evening requiring surgery for duodenal atresia. On 4th of February we left Holles street and from Crumlin rang Ronald McDonald house looking for a place for myself and Padraig. We were told we could move in that evening. Sadhbh was in PICU so we couldn’t stay with her for the first week so Ronald McDonald became our home. When Sadhbh graduated to her own room one of us got to stay with her and one of us stayed in Ronald McDonald. The people working in Ronald McDonald always knew the right thing to say to us as we walked to and from the hospital every morning and night. When they saw us arriving with Sadhbh on that Wednesday afternoon February 27th, they were as excited as we were. They gave us a lovely send off home and one of them said "I hope I never see the three of you again." The Ronald McDonald house allowed us to focus all our attention on Sadhbh and for that we are very grateful.
On 25th April I'm doing a 60km cycle around Blessington Lakes to help fundraise money to keep parents close to their sick child.
60k In May!! Due to public demand we've decided to extend our cycle until the end of May 2020.
Our sole focus is to keep our House open and keep our families close to their sick child at Crumlin Children’s Hospital. We cannot do this without the help of the Irish public.
This newly formatted cycle will provide vital funding for the House as we continue to care for families who have no choice but to be by their child's hospital bedside. We truly are all in this together so we’re asking you to stay healthy & fit during this time by challenging you to cycle for us. Cycle 60km during the months of April & May, in your own area and when suits you to help us continue to care for our families at this unique time.
It costs us €60.00 per night per family, and by registering you will be providing a family a home for the night when they need it the most.
